Vanessa Chong-Kuna and Linda Duckworth
Mānoa’s Vanessa Chong-Kuna, advisor at the Study Abroad Center and Linda Duckworth, director of International Student Services have been selected to participate in the 2011 Fulbright Program for International Education Administrators. Duckworth will participate in a two-week Korea seminar and Chong-Kuna will participate in a three-week Japan seminar to study the education, society and culture of their respective countries.
Chong-Kuna has served as a study abroad advisor at the Study Abroad Center since 1999. The center offers summer, semester and yearlong programs in Asia (four programs in Japan and one in China), Australia, Europe, the Pacific and South America.
Duckworth has served as the director of International Student Services since 2000, overseeing services and programs provided to international students who pursue degree and exchange programs. Currently, 1,500 international students originating from 90 plus countries pursue studies at Mānoa. Students from Korea represent the second largest international student group.
