Dongbu Insurance and Farmers Insurance made a $15,000 gift to support West Oʻahu’s Certificate in Risk Management and Insurance Program. Their gift will support the operations and staff of this new program designed to meet the national growing need for skilled insurance professionals.

The Certificate in Risk Management and Insurance provides training in risk management, personal and commercial insurance and prepares students for the licensure examination.

“Farmers Insurance and Dongbu Insurance are leaders in the industry and we are grateful for their support of UH West Oʻahu’s Risk Management and Insurance Certificate Program,” says West Oʻahu Chancellor Gene Awakuni. “It is even more important in today’s economy that we are educating students to become qualified professionals in areas where they are needed most and can find gainful employment following graduation. The generous gifts from these forward-thinking companies help us to achieve that mission.”
