Hamilton InterLibrary Loan Update

Mānoa Library is revising the InterLibrary loan policy for the university. Effective Aug. 22, 2011, a $3 per item fee will be charged for ILL Loans that are not picked up within 10 days of notification.

Why is the fee being instituted? The library is committed to providing good service that fulfills its patrons scholarly and research needs. The library also wants to encourage carefully considered use of its resources, including the environmental impact.

Shipping materials round trip between off-island lenders and Hamilton Library averages $20–$30 per item. The library utilizes fast delivery services to ensure a quick turn-around time for loans whenever possible, the items are shipped via airplane (use of jet fuel). Simply put, order what you need and please use what you order.

For questions about the ILL services, contact Naomi Chow, Hamilton Library ILL/ESP Librarian, at (808) 956-5951 or email. For more information, visit the library website.
