Mānoa’s Outreach College presents Asia-Pacific Dance Festival: The Crossroads of Contemporary and Traditional Dance on July 31, 7:30 p.m. and July 31, 2 p.m. in Kennedy Theatre. The festival will conclude with a public forum on July 31, 4:45 p.m. in the East-West Center Imin Conference Center. The forum is designed to initiate a conversation about traditional dance and contemporary dance that pulls from traditional and how these styles coexist.
Concert audiences will enjoy dance from Korea, Japan, Okinawa, Fiji, India, the Philippines and Hawaiʻi. Featured dancers and choreographers include Peter Rockford Espiritu, Cheryl Nakasone, Yukie Shiroma, Kenny Endo and Mary Jo Freshley. Tickets available online. (808) 944-2697
