Kudos for Hilo’s Carolyn Ma appointed to Board of Pharmacy and Michael Marshall art work accepted for exhibition.
Hilo Associate Professor Carolyn Ma joined the seven-member Hawaiʻi Board of Pharmacy, effective July 1. The Board of Pharmacy is the state agency responsible for the licensure and discipline of Hawaiʻi pharmacists and pharmacies. Ma practiced as a board certified oncology pharmacist at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu for 13 years. She subsequently became vice president for clinical program development for Am Med International in Hong Kong and most recently has been management consultant for Stanford Hospitals and Clinics. Michael Marshall, Hilo professor of art, had work accepted for inclusion in the North West Art Center’s America’s 2011: All Media exhibition, currently on display in the Hartnett Hall Gallery at Minot State University, Minot, ND. His work was one of 37 selected by Juror Douglas Kinsey. Additionally, Marshall is exhibiting two mono prints in a group invitational, 14+1 Hawaiʻi Printmaking Now, at the Kahilu Gallery in Waimea through Oct. 15
