Mānoa’s Wayne Shiroma Receives Volunteer Award
Mānoa Professor Wayne Shiroma was named the 2009 recipient of the N. Walter Cox Award, in recognition of his service to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Microwave Theory and Techniques Society.
Visiting Engineering Professorship Established
The Dr. Alfred A. Yee Visiting Professorship in Civil and Environmental Engineering was established at Mānoa through an anonymous donor’s gift of $1,010,000.
Board of Regents Report
The Board of Regents approved degrees in the Mānoaās College of Engineering and College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources and implemented Student U-PASS Transportation fee for student buss pass.
Hoku Scientific Funds Entrepreneurial Program
Hoku Scientific, Inc. donated more than $130,000 to establish the Microloan Fund to support UH Manoa’s aspiring young entrepreneurs.
