Mānoa’s Water Resources Research Center Interim director Chittaranjan Ray and Junior Specialist Philip Moravcik received a $500,000 grant from the United States Department of Agriculture to study the uptake of pharmaceutical compounds by edible plants under differing conditions of soil moisture stress.

Chittaranjan Ray, director of the Water Resources Research Center, is part of a consortium that is examining hydrologic and geochemical uncertainties associated with geologic carbon sequestration in deep-saline reservoirs in the mainland Midwest.
