UH scientists declare man-sized grouper new species

A man-sized grouper that trolls the tropical waters of the Eastern Pacific Ocean has been identified as a new fish species after genetic tests led by University of Hawai‘i researchers from the Hawai‘i Institute of Marine Biology.

New UH Mānoa dean is taking charge of Hawaiian knowledge

Frear Trust establishes endowed scholarship at UH

In conjunction with the dedication of the new Frear Hall at UH Mānoa, officials from the Bank of Hawai‘i, which serves as the Trustee of the Mary D. and Walter F. Frear Eleemosynary Trust, presented a check for $750,000 to establish an endowed scholarship fund to assist students at any campus within the University of Hawai‘i system.
