New Student Orientation Program

Why should I attend?

The Student Orientation program includes:

  • Insightful and helpful advice from current students
  • The opportunity to interact with a New Student Orientation Leader (who is a current UHM student)
  • Opportunity to meet UHM faculty from different departments
  • A resource fair featuring various on-and-off-campus programs and services
  • A campus tour
  • Priority registration*
  • Breakfast, lunch and snacks
  • A chance to meet other students new to UHM!

Our Spring New Student Orientation is a 1-day session. Therefore, we combine both programming for Freshmen and Transfer students into one.

*Students who register for NSO by 4:00pm on Thursday, December 18th are guaranteed to receive a priority registration pin number. Once NSO has emailed out the priority registration PIN number, you will not be able to request a refund if you are unable to attend the program you signed up for.

The Parent & Family Orientation program includes:

  • Advice on navigating your new relationship with your student
  • Opportunity to meet with current UHM students and faculty members
  • A chance to get your questions answered by campus resource representatives
  • A resource fair featuring various on-and-off-campus programs and services
  • A campus tour
  • Breakfast, lunch and snacks
  • The opportunity to meet other parents!
