Parent Program

The New Student Orientation (NSO) Parent program is designed to provide parents and guardians of incoming students with information about the University of Hawai'i at Manoa campus, including information about available resources and degree requirements. The NSO staff believes that parents and family members are vital to the success of all UHM students as they are typically the folks who provide support and encouragement to their students. Thus, the goal of the Parent Program is to provide parents and family members with a strong sense of what students will face from the moment they step foot on campus and how to support them not only during this important transition point in their lives but throughout their time at UHM.

Given the nature of the program. The NSO program staff respectfully requests that family members refrain from registering and/or bringing children under the age of 18 to this program.

The parent orientation program includes:
Advice on navigating a new phase as you become members of the UHM community, opportunity to meet with current UHM students and faculty members, a chance to get your questions answered by campus resource representatives, a resource fair featuring various on-and-off campus programs and services, a campus tour, breakfast lunch and snacks, the opportunity to meet other parents
