Selecting an Orientation Session
New Student Orientation (NSO) | Warrior Parent Program - Fall 2008

Which of the sessions should you choose?

The NSO staff recommends that you attend one of the first 7 sessions (P1 – P7) offered, since these sessions are somewhat more relaxed and intimate. These first 7 sessions are geared toward parents of O‘ahu students since the residence halls will not be available for your son or daughter to move in until August 19th. If you are a parent of a neighbor island, continental U.S. or international student, attending these first 7 sessions may require you to make multiple travel arrangements, since these sessions are not offered the week before the fall semester starts.

However, if you choose to attend the last session on August 20 – 21 (P8), you will be offered a parent program that provides essential information, an introduction to campus, and a variety of workshops about the University and its surrounding environment. Please remember that residence halls will open for freshmen beginning August 19th, so the August 20 – 21 session will probably be the most convenient for parents of neighbor islands, continental U.S. and international students.

For more information, see the “Coming to Oahu” link.

What if I’m not sure whether I can attend an orientation session? Can I just be a walk-in on the day of orientation?

No, we do not accept walk-ins for the P1 – P7 sessions. However, you can sign up on site for the P8 session on August 20th and 21st. More information regarding walk in registration will be available on the website in early summer.
