Description:An educational film directed at the level of upper primary/junior high school. The issue is the impact of technological development in the sensitive tropical island environment. Old traditional ways of life and resource use being more ecologically sound, are compared with modern and often foreign methods and the environmental degradation that follows. Must economic development for island people necessitate exhaustion of food resources, deforestation, and pollution? Methods to combat these effects are shown, and development alternatives suggested.
