Description: | The United States has become, in the past 40 years, the new home of one of the strongest cultures of Polynesia: the Samoan culture. Building an understanding between the American and Samoan cultures has been a slow and challenging process. The fundamental differences are not easily overcome and have raised many questions. Most Americans are unaware of the rich cultural heritage of the Samoans. To better understand the Samoan way of life -- called Fa'a Samoa -- and the complex challenges that Samoans face in America, one has to go back to the roots of the culture. |
