General Transfer Credit Information:
At the University of Hawaii at Manoa an evaluation of transfer credits is done after the student has been accepted for admission and has submitted the tuition deposit along with the statement of intention to enroll. In general, UH Manoa accepts credits at institutions fully accredited by U.S. regional accrediting associations, provided that such credits are substantially equivalent to courses at UH Manoa and have been completed with a grade of D (not D-) or better. Only course credits are accepted in transfer. Grades and grade points from other institutions do not transfer to UH Manoa. Although all qualified courses may be transferred from two-year colleges, UH Manoa applies no more than 60 credits from two-year colleges toward the credits required for a bachelor's degree. Transfer Credit Search Information:
This database is constantly being reviewed and updated. It does not list every course that an institution offers. It is important that you review ALL entries for each course. Table Headings:
Each row corresponds to one equivalency rule. In the example below, the combination of BI 201, 202, and 203 is equivalent to BIOL 171, 171L, 172, and 172L.
If more than one rule exists for a course, the UHM equivalent is determined by the term in which the course was taken. In the example below, if SP 151 (Personal & Public Sp) was taken prior to Fall 2001, the course would transfer in as SP ELEC (Elective). If SP 151 (Personal & Public Sp) was taken in Fall 2001 or after, the course would transfer in as SP 151 (Personal & Public Speech).
