Jerry Yang co-created the the Yahoo! Internet navigational guide with David Filo in 1994 and co-founded Yahoo! Inc. a year later. As a key member of the executive team and chief executive officer from June 2007 to January 2009, he helped build Yahoo! into one of the world’s most highly trafficked websites and most recognized brands.

He serves on the board of directors of Cisco Systems, Yahoo! Japan and Alibaba Group Holding Ltd.

Yang holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford and is on leave from Stanford’s electrical engineering PhD program. A member of the Stanford University Board of Trustees, he has supported Stanford scholarships, engineering programs and the Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve. In 2007 he and his wife Akiko Yamazaki donated $75 million, designating $50 million for environmental research.
