The Advisory Committee
Donna Tanoue, Chair
Tanoue serves as vice chair of Bank of Hawaii Corp. and Bank of Hawaii and also serves on the Bank of Hawaii Board of Directors to which she was elected in October 2001. She is also president of Bank of Hawaii Charitable Foundation.
Tanoue chaired the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington, D.C. from 1998 to 2001 and serving as a partner in the Hawaii law firm of Goodsill Anderson Quinn & Stifel. She also served as commissioner of financial institutions for the State of Hawaii.
Tanoue serves on the Board of Trustees of Kaneohe Ranch, and previously served on the Board of Directors of Longs Drug Stores Corporation. She serves on the national board of Public Broadcasting Service, as well as the boards of Honolulu Academy of Arts, Queen’s Health Systems, Bishop Museum and Hawaii Preparatory Academy.
Tanoue was a member of the University of Hawaii Board of Regents 1995–1998, serving as vice chair 1997–1998. She received the university’s Distinguished Alumni Award in 2002.
Tanoue received her bachelor of arts from the University of Hawaii at Manoa and juris doctor degree from Georgetown University Law Center.
