Centennial Scholars Program
Making a Commitment to Hawai‘i’s Best and Brightest

local students on Campus Center stairs

The Centennial Scholars Program celebrates the UH System’s centennial and provides an opportunity for the state’s brightest students to attend a UH campus.

Beginning in fall 2007, all 10 UH campuses will provide a scholarship of $1,000 per year ($500 per semester) to qualified Hawai‘i residents.

Scholarship qualifications follow, and a FAQ is also available.

Qualifications

Applicants must

Students will receive the grant for up to 8 consecutive semesters at a UH baccalaureate campus or up to 4 consecutive semesters at a UH community college campus as long as they maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA (fall and spring semesters).

UH community college recipients who transfer directly to a UH baccalaureate campus and maintain a 3.0 GPA, as calculated by the admitting campus, are eligible to continue to receive the scholarship at the baccalaureate campus.

The Centennial Scholarship will be automatically awarded to qualified students who are admitted to a UH campus. No application is required. However, community college applicants must submit their high school transcripts (which are not mandatory for admission) to the campus financial aid office.

The Centennial Scholarship will be awarded to all qualified students without regard to financial need.

Financial Need

Centennial Scholarship recipients who demonstrate financial need remain eligible for other university, federal and private financial aid and the State of Hawai‘i B Plus Scholarship. Visit the Financial Aid page for more information.
