Gregg Geary is head of Sinclair Library and the music librarian for UH Manoa.
He led transformation of Sinclair Library to meet information, study and learning needs of 21st century college students.
The quarterly Making the Elephant Dance Award was created by President David McClain in 2008 to acknowledge individuals who successfully develop innovative ways to improve the university’s service to students and the community. It is named after the book Who Says Elephants Can’t Dance? Leading a Great Enterprise Through Dramatic Change, by former IBM CEO Lou Gerstner, who pushed the large corporate bureaucracy to be more responsive to customers and the marketplace.
