2019 Hawaii Foodbank Annual Food Drive
President's message
The Hawaii Foodbank Annual State Employees Food Drive has begun and will run through May 17, 2019. I encourage your participation in this very worthy cause that helps to serve Hawaii's needy, including children, elderly, homeless, disabled, working poor families, and others needing temporary assistance.
As you all know, several of our campuses have opened student food banks, and our systemwide Food Insecurity Committee continues to develop policy recommendations for all of us. While we support these campus efforts, I hope we can also continue to support our community ohana through participation in the State Food Drive.
The Foodbank's overall goal this year is to raise 80,000 pounds of food and $150,000. Last year, UH contributed over 7,000 pounds of food and more than $39,000 in cash. The top 5 most wanted items are financial contributions, canned meats/tuna, canned meals, canned vegetables or fruits, and rice.
Mahalo for supporting the University of Hawaii's 2019 Hawaii Foodbank Food Drive
