Tobacco Prevention Training Module
Tobacco remains the leading cause of preventable death in this country. Although the effectiveness of brief office-based smoking cessation counseling has been well-established, and most chronic smokers begin smoking during adolescence, less than half of pediatricians routinely counsel smokers to quit. This training module was developed to help pediatric residents develop the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively help patients and their family members quit smoking. We hope that you find the material and training tools helpful in your future attempts to advocate for a healthy, smoke-free environment for your patients!
