Admissions
and Records is responsible for the admission and placement
of qualified undergraduate and unclassified students; registering
all Manoa students and maintaining their records; and providing
reports and labels related to applied and enrolled students.
The Admissions staff annually process approximately 11,000
applications. UH-Manoa is categorized as "Selective"
in its admissions criteria.
- Marketing
and recruitment. In cooperation with School and College
Services, market UHM programs and recruit qualified undergraduate
students to UHM
- Counsel
students concerning programs and educational options at
UHM
- Determine
the tuition status of all applicants and enrolled students.
- Admit
qualified undergraduate and unclassified students to UHM
- Meet
with denied students to discuss options for admission
to other UH campuses
- Evaluate
previous work (e.g., other college work, AP, CLEP, military
schooling, etc.) for possible transfer to UHM
- Develop
the schedule of classes and of finals each semester
- Register
eligible students
- Process
grades
- Maintain
student records and produce transcripts
- Verify
student enrollment and graduation
- Order
and distribute diplomas
- Provide
reports for internal and external use
- Repond
to mail, e-mail, phone and in-person inquiries
