Hawai‘i
Small Schools Venture
Assisting in the creation of small, equitable,
high
achieving secondary schools
throughout Hawai‘i
Far too many high school students do not acquire the skills, knowledge, or dispositions needed to graduate or to succeed later in life, in part because the current education system was designed for an earlier era. Our challenge today is to redesign secondary schools to meet the current needs of students and ensure that they are prepared for the future.
The
Hawai‘i
Small Schools Venture is part of
the Office
of School Redesign,
a joint
project
of the University
of Hawai‘i
College of Education
and
the Hawai‘i
Department of Education.
Its purpose is to promote
academic
achievement and
ensure
that all high school
students
in Hawai‘i
graduate with the knowledge
and
skills necessary
for
post-secondary education
by
assisting
in the planning and
creation of
safe
and
successful
small
schools.
