Measuring Our Progress, 2010 Update is the latest report in a series produced by the University of Hawaii as required by Act 161 of the 1995 Legislative Session which mandated the University adopt and use benchmarks for the development of budget and tuition schedules, the review of programs, and the submission of a report to the Legislature in the second year of each fiscal biennium.
The report, originally titled Benchmarks/Performance Indicators Report (1995, 1996, 1998, 2000) and Institutional Effectiveness Report (2002), was renamed to reflect the importance the University places on measuring its progress toward system goals. Selected indicators, adopted by the Board of Regents in 1996 and modified as warranted, continue to form the basis for the report. These benchmarks/performance indicators serve as a means for the University to demonstrate its effectiveness in meeting the systems mission and strategic goals by revealing progress and standing over time, at intervals, and, when available, against standards/practices elsewhere. The report reflects information available at the time of preparation.
