The objectives listed are these:
1. Embrace a culture of excellence and performance as the hallmarks of effective learning and student success.
2. To achieve a shared institutional culture that makes student learning and success the responsibility of all
3. To achieve a shared institutional culture that treasures diversity and inclusion, honors collegiality, and continuously strives for exceptional performance.
Strong on EdSpeak and Political Correctness, short on concern for holding students to rigorous standards of performance, and assuring that the time they spend in the University is actually transforming for them. How are "effective learning", "student success", and "exceptional performance" to be defined?
In the business strategy literature, objectives represent a corporate commitment to achieving particular results and outcomes, with emphasis on the "particular". They are quantifiable or measurable, and they have a time deadline. The whole point of them is to enable the decision-maker or other interested party know when they have actually been accomplished.
These statements are so vague as to be meaningless. |
