MOPEDS, MOTORCYCLES, AND SCOOTERS
All drivers of mopeds, motorcycles, or scooters are required to purchase a permit or pay for daily parking on the UH Mānoa campus. Permits are $30 per semester or $90 per year. (Annual moped/motorcycle permits available to UHM faculty and staff members only.)
Moped/motorcycle/scooter (also referred to here as “moped/motorcycle”) parking is available in designated lots around the campus. See map and details below.
SPECIAL NOTE to moped owners: mopeds must be registered with the City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). A transfer of ownership must also be filed within 20 days of sale to release liability for citations issued to the vehicle after its sale.

MOPED/MOTORCYCLE PERMITS
VISITOR MOPED/MOTORCYCLE PARKING
MOPED/MOTORCYCLE PARKING REGULATIONS:
- Upper Campus (U) permits are good at 15 lots located around the campus mauka of Dole Street, in addition to the All-Permits (A) lots.
- Commuter (C) permits are good at five large lots at the edge of campus in addition to the All-Permits lots.
- Student Housing (H) permits are only available to student housing residents. (Must present a student housing receipt available on MyUH portal).
- Only those with H permits are allowed to park in the student housing lots.
- H permits allow holder to park in All-Permits lots on the Lower Campus at anytime.
- Upper Campus and Commuter lots become All-Permit lots after 4pm on weekdays and all day on weekends.
VISITOR MOPED/MOTORCYCLE PARKING
- Visitors on a moped/motorcycle must pay a rate of $4 at the Visitor (V) lot behind Kennedy Theatre, using the Pay-to-Park machine there.
- Alternately, visitors may pay an entry fee of $5 at one of the manned kiosks in the Lower Campus and then may park in any motorcycle/moped parking area makai of Dole Street (excluding Student Housing lots).
MOPED/MOTORCYCLE PARKING REGULATIONS:
- May not be parked in bicycle racks, only in designated moped/motorcycle parking areas.
- Shall abide by the City & County of Honolulu Traffic Code, State of Hawaii State-wide Traffic Code, HRS 291-C and UHM Parking Regulations.
- Shall not be operated on pedestrian walkways, the mall, courtyards, or within buildings.
- Shall not be parked or operated in any parking structure.
