The
Master Wood Carver & Environmental Artist:
Faktaufon Shane
Eagleton is the son of a Rotuman mother from the Polynesian
enclave of Rotuma of the Fijian islands, and a British father.
The Eagletons moved from Fiji to New Zealand when Faktaufon
was 6 years old. A penknife gift from his grandmother when
Faktaufon was eight begat his life-long passion for carving
wood.
Faktaufon Eagleton
has traveled the world: Africa, the Middle East, Europe, the
United States, and the Pacific. He is internationally renowned
for his public art projects in England, New Zealand, Australia,
the Czech Republic and across the United States. Eagleton
spent over 10 years working in the San Francisco Bay Area
and has recently relocated to Hawaii to be closer to his Pacific
Island roots. He is currently working out of a woodworking
studio based at the campus of the University of Hawaii Windward
Community College. |
