The department cooperates in the publication of the Journal of Chinese Philosophy founded in 1972 by Professor Chung-Ying Cheng and since then edited by him. The journal was founded as an organ for the publication of quality articles in Chinese Philosophy and Chinese-Western Comparative Philosophy for the purpose of developing and cultivating Chinese philosophy as an important area for contemporary philosophical thinking. In the last 36 years the Journal has published over 1500 quality articles covering all aspects of Chinese philosophy from ancient to the present day including Yijing, Confucianism, Daoism, Legalism, Name School, Neo-Confucianism, Chinese Buddhism and Contemporary Chinese Philosophy including Chinese Marxism in all areas of philosophy from logic, metaphysics and epistemology to aesthetics, ethics and political philosophy. JCP features an International Editorial Board of 60+Consulting Editors with Dr. Linyu Gu as Managing Editor and Associate Editor.
