Pre-Health/Pre-Law Advising Center (PAC)

The Pre-Health/Pre-Law Advising Center is a walk-in resource center for students interested in law, medicine (allopathic, chiropractic, naturopathic, osteopathic, podiatric), or the health sciences (dentistry, optometry, pharmacy, physician assistant, physical therapy, veterinary medicine, etc.). PAC is staffed by fellow pre-health students trained to help students clarify their career goals, plan their coursework, research schools and programs, find opportunities to gain experience, and apply to professional school.

PAC is located in Sinclair Library, Room 108. Their hours of operation are Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Advising is available on a walk-in or appointment basis. To contact their office, you may call (808) 956-8646, or email uhpac@hawaii.edu.

Mānoa Advising Center (MAC)

The Mānoa Advising Center is a resource center for students who are undecided on a major or who are working towards a major that has prerequisite requirements. MAC is staffed by advisors trained to help students understand the general education requirements, choose a major, and plan their academic schedule.

MAC is located in the Queen Lili'uokalani Center for Student Services (QLCSS), Room 101. Their hours of operation are Monday through Friday (except Wednesday) from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Advising is available on an appointment basis. First Year Programs

First Year Programs offers many programs for freshmen students, including Access to College Excellence (ACE) Learning Communities and Freshman Seminars.

Access to College Excellence (ACE) Learning Communities offer a combination of three general education courses and a small group, one-credit integrating seminar (CAS 110: Access to the College Community) to incoming freshmen. Courses are grouped to provide students with an introduction to various academic perspectives while fulfilling graduation requirements. CAS 110 is led by an upperclassman peer mentor who supports freshman cohorts in their new learning environment. Peer mentors assist with the development of successful academic strategies, creation of social and interpersonal networks, and involvement in a variety of campus activities. ACE espouses a well-rounded, multifaceted approach to college education.

Mānoa Peer Advisors (MPA)

Mānoa Peer Advisors strives to provide the University of Hawai`i at Mānoa student body with available and resourceful Peer Advisors who will guide the students through all stages in their college careers. MPA's are stationed at various offices around the Mānoa campus, including the Mānoa Advising Center (MAC), Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work, Student Athlete Academic Services, College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources, School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene, Shidler College of Business, College of Education, Pre-Health/Pre-Law Advising Center (PAC), and the Honors Program.

College of Arts and Sciences Academic Services (CASSAS)

The College of Arts & Sciences Student Academic Services (CASSAS) is a resource center for students pursuing a liberal arts education at UH. CASSAS advisors assist students with clarifying their life and career goals, developing academic plans, and preparing for life after graduation.

CASSAS is located in the Queen Lili'uokalani Center for Students Services (QLCSS), Room 113. Their hours of operation are Monday through Friday (except Wednesday) from 8:15 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Information desk advising is available from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. To contact their office, you may call (808) 956-8755, or email a faculty advisor.
