Dr. John Grove has published in the fields of medical genetics, statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, cancer screening, and chronic disease epidemiology.

Selected Research Projects
Hawai‘i Family Registry of Colon Cancer: Through the Cancer Research Center of Hawai‘i is establishing a family registry and biorepository for families at high risk for colorectal cancer as part of a national registry. Dr. Loic LeMarchand is the Principal Investigator; Dr. Grove is the Co-Principal Investigator.

Pacific Genetic Epidemiologic Study on Aging: This is a network of experts in genetics, epidemiology, geriatrics, biostatistics, and genetic epidemiology conducting association studies of physical fitness among the elderly with genotypic variation and assessing innovative statistical methods for use in the study of the genetic basis for successful aging. Dr. David Curb is the Principal Investigator.

HIV Seropositivity, Aging, and Neuro-Cognitive Function: A set of studies on neurocognitive functioning among HIV positive participants. Dr. Cecilia Shikuma is overall Principal Investigator.

The Family Blood Pressure Program (SAPPHIRe Network): A collaborative study of genetics of hypertension and insulin resistance among families of Chinese and Japanese ancestry living in Taiwan, Honolulu, and the Bay Area. Dr. David Curb is the Principal Investigator.
