Infectious Diseases: Modeling the emergence of Avian Influenza
in Vietnam.

Conservation and Pathogen Biology. National Science Foundation:

Dr. Wilcox’s interest is in transdisciplinary
research and practice at the interface of ecological and pubic
health sciences. This includes the application of ecological
systems approaches to problems in conservation and health,
focusing on emerging infectious diseases and connections between
marine conservation and health. Much of his current research
is on the social and ecological causes of zoonotic emerging
infectious diseases, including dengue fever and avian influenza
in Southeast Asia. He is also involved in research on the
conservation and health implications of the interactions between
society and marine ecosystems in Hawai‘i and the Pacific.
Courses Taught
IS 650: Ecology, Health, and Society
TRMD 650: Advanced Ecology of Emerging Infectious Diseases
PH 652/PPST 649: Interdisciplinary Seminar
