Faculty in the Office of Public Health Studies
are involved in numerous research projects
that span a wide range of public health topics. Nearly all faculty
members enjoy collaborative research relationships with public
and private organizations. These relationships have benefited
both the student and the program faculty. Examples of collaborative
research partners in Hawai‘i include:
• The Cancer
Research Center of Hawai‘i (CRCH)
• Papa
Ola Lokahi (a Native Hawaiian organization)
•
Pacific Health Research Institute
•
The Pacific Biomedical Research Center (PBRC)
•
The Water Resources Research Center
•
The Hawai‘i Medical
Services Association (HMSA)
•
The State of Hawai‘i,
Department of Health
•
The State of Hawai‘i,
Executive Office on Aging Research is expected
of every faculty member at the University of Hawai‘i
at Mānoa (UHM). As such, the University offers a wide
array of research support services
to promote productivity and assist faculty in preparing grants
and increasing research awards.
There are numerous opportunities for students
to participate in research projects under the direction of
the OPHS faculty or other faculty in the John A. Burns School
of Medicine, PBRC, or CRCH. In some cases, the students also
received graduate research assistantships
for their work.
