University of Hawai‘i Compliance Office—Research Integrity

Research integrity embodies the core values of this institution, where at the University of Hawai‘i, experiences extend beyond the classroom or laboratory and into cultivating lifelong moral character and personal responsibility.

The three main areas of compliance administered by the Research Integrity unit are:

  1. Research & Scholarly Misconduct
  2. Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR)
  3. Conflicts of Interest (COI)

These areas are governed by institutional policies, or plans that apply system-wide.The Research Integrity unit works closely with other university compliance committees and provides oversight and guidance on the three main areas to the various colleges, schools, and departments across all campuses.

This site contains information about the university’s expectations with regard to integrity in research, research and scholarly misconduct, COI, and RCR.

The roles, responsibilities, and contact information of key research personnel and administrators in the Research Integrity unit are described. Detailed information about procedures for dealing with instances of alleged misconduct in research or scholarly work is also stated here.
