About SVPP

The University of Hawaiʻi (UH) System Sexual Violence Prevention Project (SVPP) will pilot the development of a model for a permanent campus infrastructure to address sexual violence prevention and victim services on two UH campuses each academic year, until the model has been implemented on all ten UH community college and four-year university campuses. For the purposes of this project, sexual violence prevention includes the prevention of sexual assault, dating violence and stalking (including cyber-stalking). The infrastructure model will include campus partnership prevention task forces on each campus.

In Fall of 2007, the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa Women’s Center began the process of establishing a Sexual Violence Prevention Task Force at University of Hawaiʻi at Hilo and Kapiʻolani Community College through a multistage process of consultation, education, and collaboration. In 2008, the project was extended to include Hawaiʻi Community College and Honolulu Community College.
