College of Education Second Life Island Launch
Aloha everyone,

Wist and Everly Hall in Second Life
Our new College of Education Second Life (SL) island is now complete and we are celebrating the official launch our island on Friday, Mar 4, 2011 at 11:00am – 12:30pm (HST), 1:00-3:30 PM (SLT). As part of our opening ceremony, we will be hosting the event in SL and real life (RL) at our College Collaboration Center (CCC) in Wist Hall 134 with a reception. Below is the schedule of events:
11:00 – 11:10am HST – Welcome address & ribbon-cutting ceremony
11:10am – 12:00 noon HST – “Demonstration of Second Life uses in the Classroom” Faculty panel – Dr. Ekaterina Prasolova-Forland, Dr. Diane Nahl, & Dr. Dongping Zheng
12:00 – 12:30pm HST – Social activity in the SL Holomua Learning Area – hula troupe performance & hula dancing
Refreshments will be provided. In addition, you will be able to view exemplary COE student SL educational simulation projects and register for free Second Life accounts to get you started with SL.
