Crime Alert - SEX ASSAULTS

October 23, 2003

Report of a Sexual Assault on Campus
This notice is for all UH Manoa Faculty, Staff and Students

During the second week of October 2003, a University of Hawai`i at Manoa student reported to the Honolulu Police Department that she had been sexually assaulted on the Manoa Campus.

Full details are still sketchy at this time; however, since the alleged assailants have not yet been apprehended, Campus Security feels it is appropriate to issue a general alert to the campus community.

The incident was reported to have occurred in the early evening hours on a Tuesday. The victim had been working out in the athletic complex. As she was returning to the residence halls, three unknown males called her over to the parking structure. After some initial conversation, two of the men restrained her and the third sexually assaulted her.

Descriptions of two of the men were provided to HPD. Both were described as Asian males, both six feet tall or taller and very thin. One had spiked, bleached hair and the other spiked, black hair. A description of the third suspect was not provided.

Anyone having knowledge of this incident should contact the Honolulu Police Department or Campus Security.
