On October 23, 2002, a Staff member discovered an unknown person in his office/lab. The Staff member asked the unknown person to identify himself and to wait while he called Campus Security. This unknown person then quickly departed the area. UH Campus Security arrived and checked the building but the unknown person departed before he could be identified and questioned. It was later discovered that the unknown person was attempting to steal lab equipment.
Known Description: Slender Caucasian Male, fair complexion,
mid 30's, approximately 6'0" tall, weight 140-160 lbs.
He was wearing a white t-shirt, and black running type pants,
and carrying a backpack.
The Campus Security Office is asking for your assistance in apprehending this individual. If you see this person or any other suspicious person(s) or events call Campus Security at extension 66911 or 956-6911 with his location and a brief description of what he is wearing.
We also ask for your assistance in securing your workplace with the following tips:
- Secure your personal valuables in locked drawers or cabinets while at work.
- Lock your office door each time you leave the room. Even just for a minute.
- Question strangers found in your office and or building. Call Campus Security if they appear suspicious.
- Help your neighbors, question strangers you see entering or exiting their unoccupied offices. Call Campus Security if they appear suspicious.
