UH Alert - Second break-in reported at Moore Hall

Last night, Tuesday, April 23, at approximately 11 p.m., UH Mānoa Campus Security received a report of a suspicious couple outside of Moore Hall.  A second report of a male running from the building was made while Campus Security officers attempted to make contact with the individuals who entered a parked vehicle fronting East West Road.  The vehicle fled west bound on Dole Street with one male and one female inside.

The male was reported as 6 ft., 160 pounds, slim build, late 20's, dirty blonde hair, and carrying a black laptop bag.  The female was reported as 5'2", 120 pounds, long blonde straight hair.  The vehicle was described as a white, Ford F-150.

Multiple rooms were discovered broken in to on the third floor of Moore Hall.  Two computers were reported taken. The Honolulu Police Department responded and is handling the investigation.

The University is in the process of evaluating its Campus Security program to determine what additional resources are needed in order to maximize security functions on campus; in the meantime, current resources are being redirected to supplement coverage for our campus.

Innovative Prevention Program Timed for Sex Assault Awareness Month

Campus Security is sponsoring three performances of Sex Signals, a nationally recognized sexual assault prevention program that incorporates improvisation, humor, education, and audience interaction. The hour-and-a-half program is designed for college and military audiences and provides a provocative look at dating, sex, and the core issue of consent. The performances are being offered free of charge to all UH Mānoa students, faculty, and staff on Tuesday, April 30, at 10:30 a.m. and at 1:30 p.m. in Kuykendall Auditorium (Room 101). 

UH Alert - Break-in reported at Moore Hall

This morning at approximately 6:30 a.m., UH Mānoa Campus Security received a report of multiple office break-ins on the fourth floor of Moore Hall. Several computers were taken. The Honolulu Police Department is handling the investigation.

UH Alert - Assault reported near Lyon Arboretum gate

This morning at approximately 6:45 a.m., a UHM Lyon Arboretum staff member arriving for work found a male assaulted near the Lyon Arboretum gate at 3860 Mānoa Road.

The road to the Lyon Arboretum gate and Mānoa Trail is currently closed.  

The Honolulu Police Department is conducting this possible robbery and ongoing investigation.

UH Alert - Gas leak at UHM Campus Center Construction Site

11:50 a.m.
UPDATE: The gas leak at the UHM Campus Center construction site has been secured. Reentry is being allowed to the four evacuated buildings (Campus Center, Dean Hall, Miller Hall and Building 37).


11:15 a.m.
A gas leak has been reported at the Campus Center construction site at UHM, between Campus Center and Miller Hall. Emergency personnel are in the area.

Evacuation is in progress. Stay away from the area.
