Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Physical abuse or threats of harm to a partner or family member is against the law. Yet over 49,000 persons in Hawai'i alone are battered by their spouses or partners every year. In addition, one third of the homicides that occurred within the last ten years were the result of domestic violence.

A person is more likely to be physically or sexually assaulted or murdered by a partner than by any other assailant.

Domestic violence is everyone's concern.
