The Asian Studies Program is pleased to announce a scholarship competition for continuing Asian Studies Program graduate (MA) and undergraduate (BA) students of ALL area/country focuses

General Information
- Starr is for continuing Asian Studies MA students. Shigeta and JTB are primarily for Asian Studies BA (juniors and seniors) majors although MA students are considered
- open to international and U.S. students
- current FLAS (graduate fellowship) recipients are not eligible
Amount
- $2,000 per award
- 2 awards from James Shigeta and 1 from JTB
- several awards from Starr
Uses
- field study
- summer language study
- research or conference travel
- general study expenses (tuition, etc)
Criteria
- continuing and full-time classified status
- exemplary performance in the Asian Studies Program
- promise in the field of Asian Studies
- funds must be expended before date of graduation or Spring/Summer 2010, whichever is earlier
