Asian Studies Program Students: Scholarships/Fellowships
The Asian Studies Program is pleased to announce a scholarship competition for continuing Asian Studies Program graduate (MA) and undergraduate (BA) students of all area focuses
General Information
- Starr is for continuing Asian Studies MA students
- Shigeta and JTB are primarily for Asian Studies BA (juniors and seniors) majors although MA students are considered
- Open to international and U.S. students
- FLAS (graduate fellowship) awardees are not eligible
Amount
- $4,000 for James Shigeta (1 award)
- $2,000 for JTB (1) and Starr (6 awards)
Uses
- field study
- summer language study
- research or conference travel
- general study expenses (tuition, etc)
Criteria
- continuing and full-time classified status
- exemplary performance in the Asian Studies Program
- promise in the field of Asian Studies
- funds must be expended before date of graduation or Spring/Summer 2008, whichever is earliest
