This course examines key issues of the growth and development of telecommunications and the Internet in China, Japan, and Korea over the past decade. It focuses on areas such as E-commerce, the digital divide, and the role of the East Asian governments in fostering the growth of domestic communications networks. It also considers the economic, political, and social implications of the network developments for each of the three countries under study.
