Research Seminar in Asian Studies: Korea
This course is designed as a capstone course to be taken usually (but
not necessarily) at the end of a student's Master of Arts Program in
Asian Studies. It is expected that the student will produce a major
research paper by the completion of the course. Through the paper the
student will:
- improve and enrich knowledge in an area of choice
- focus in depth on one particular area
- synthesize diverse information and formulate a critical review
- bring together an original body of knowledge
- organize and execute an extended research project
The paper should meet the following goals:
- academic interest and value to Korean Studies
- interdisciplinary and, if possible, intercultural
- present research, analysis, and synthesis
