16th Annual Graduate Student Conference

Intersections and Boundaries:

Multidisciplinary Perspective on Asia and the Pacific


March 16-18, 2005

Center for Korean Studies, UH Manoa Campus

The SHAPS 2005 Graduate Student Conference invites graduate students to submit papers for the conference, held at the Center for Korean Studies on the University of Hawai`i , Manoa campus in Honolulu, Hawai`i . The purpose of the conference is to showcase current graduate research in Asia and the Pacific from diverse regional and disciplinary perspectives, from the University of Hawai`i and beyond.


The conference welcomes paper submissions from any discipline that are regionally focused on Asia or the Pacific. We invite participation and attendance from students at the University of Hawai`i and other schools. The deadline for abstract submissions is Thursday, December 30, 2004. The abstract submission form is available at: here

Abstracts should be sent to: gradconf@hawaii.edu.


Monetary prizes will be offered for the best papers on: China, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, Pacific. In addition, the Moscotti prize will be awarded to the two best papers from the University of Hawai`i.
