UH Policy on Health Insurance All non-immigrants on student visas are required to enroll in a University of Hawai‘i endorsed student health insurance plan or furnish proof of enrollment in a health program whose benefits meet the minimum insurance requirements set by the President or the President’s designee. (UH Board of Regents Policy 7-7)
Goal of the UH Policy on Health Insurance If students become ill or injured and have no insurance, they may not be able to continue their education because of financial concerns. By requiring purchase of adequate health insurance, the University’s goal is to have students fulfill their educational objectives at the University of Hawai’i.
