DESCRIPTION:Talk will be in Mandarin Chinese and will be followed by pupus.\n\nJill Chang is the APAC Network Manager of Give2Asia, an international nonprofit organization.\n\nTaiwan is influential but also needs help. Strategically located, Taiwan helps drive social change—it was\nthe first in Asia to legalize gay marriage and is among the most free societies in the world, according to\nFreedom House. The World Bank rates Taiwan top in East Asia for gender equality in the workplace. One\nthe other hand, Taiwan is one of the fastest aging regions in the world, is #9 on the scale of vulnerability\nto disaster, and has an growing rural-urban gap.\nWith her profound involvement in the social sector and her knowledge across multiple countries, Jill will\ndiscuss three major social issues in Taiwan (aging, youth poverty, and increasing disasters), as well as the\ntrends and opportunities of Taiwan from the perspective of a nonprofit organization.\nAs Network Manager of Give2Asia, Jill oversees operations across 25 Asia-Pacific countries. She is also a\n\nbestselling author and public speaker—her book Quiet is a Superpower has become a bestseller in Taiwan; the English version is scheduled to be published in 2020.\n\nThe university community and public are welcome to attend!
