DESCRIPTION:The recently published Stolen Dreams – A Manchurian Legacy is a historical biography about the life of the grandfather of\nthe author, Julie Sormark, in Manchuria, China, from 1898 to 1940.\nJulie will talk about the growth of the city of Harbin and the impact that history had on her grandfather’s business and\nfamily, with a particular focus on how political events at the end of the last century in Russia, Japan, Korea and China\nshaped the developments in Manchuria.\nJulie Sormark was born in Shanghai, grew up in Japan and graduated from Sophia University in Tokyo.
