She is a Professor of Urban and Regional Planning and teaches a graduate seminar in climate change across the Asia/Pacific Region. Her research interests include climate change policy, including greenhouse gas mitigation, alternative transportation strategies, and climate adaptation. She is a Research Fellow with the University of Hawaii Economic Research Organization, holds a B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She currently serves on the City and County of Honolulu Climate Change Commission.
