DESCRIPTION:Many texts claim that there are some things that are ineffable, and\nargue that they are so. Of course, the texts must say something about\nthem to do this. Hence the texts seem committed to the\ncontradictory nature of these objects. In this talk I will look at two texts\nwhich find themselves in this situation: the Daodejing and the\nMulamadhyamakakarika. After a brief introduction to paraconsistent\nlogic (logic which allows for contradictions), we will then see how,\nusing this machinery, one can make sense of the strange thought that\nthere are objects which are both effable and ineffable.\n\nTo register, please visit: https://hawaii.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJItc-yhqTkiG921ce13tJLaC3pGFeU5WIGx
