DESCRIPTION:This is Part 5 in our six-part webinar series on Disaster Response.\nIn this webinar, we will be providing a safe space to address the relationship between interpersonal violence and histories of colonization while educating participants on de-escalation practices, services, and access to care.\n\nLearning Objectives:\n\n* Participants will define the relationship between violence prevention and disaster response among Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islanders.\n* Participants will define the importance of aloha at home in healing historical trauma to prevent in-home violence.\n* Participants will identify a de-escalation technique or, puʻuhonua (place or person) to create a safety plan, or escape plan, and be able to recognize clinical signs and symptoms related to Domestic Violence, Interpersonal Partner Violence, family violence and systems violence.\n\nThis webinar is part of the Hawaiʻi State 2022 Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM): Roads to Reconnection Virtual Statewide Events.\n\nNote: While we take great care to ensure that our trainings are held in culturally safe space, due to the nature of violence prevention, we are offering extra support.
