DESCRIPTION:Join Rovaco Dance Company director Rohan Bhargava for a series of master classes in Contemporary Dance. \n\nAbout the Artist:\n\nRohan Bhargava, born and raised in New Delhi, India, began his formal dance\ntraining at The Danceworx Academy of Performing Arts. He trained in ballet,\nmodern, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop, and went on to serve as a\nperformer, instructor, and choreographer in The Danceworx Company. In 2012,\nRohan relocated to New York to pursue his B.F.A in Dance from Tisch School\nof the Arts, NYU. He currently works for Kizuna Dance, Periapsis Music and\nDance, Mare Nostrum Elements, and Notes in Motion Outreach Dance Theater.\nThrough his choreographic work as Artistic Director of Rovaco Dance, Rohan\nhas won "Outstanding Choreography" at Tamasha NYC 2016 and received\ncommissions from The Dance Gallery Festival, Sam Houston State University,\nMare Nostrum Elements, Dancewave, Making Moves Dance Festival, and\nRhythmically Speaking Dance. In 2017, Rohan collaborated with seven\ncomposers from Mannes School of Music as part of the Alsop Entrepreneurship\nAward. In 2019, he completed a two-year residency through the CUNY Dance\nInitiative at LaGuardia Performing Arts Center, and he was awarded the 2020\nJadin Wong Fellowship in Dance, through Asian American Arts Alliance.\nRecently, Rohan was named one of Dance Magazine's "25 to Watch 2021."
